Application deadline:3rd March 2023

We are passionate about mental health and are looking for new Trustees to join our existing Board members who have a wide range of skills and experience in governing charitable organisations and businesses.

If you are seeking to develop your experience and skills or have expertise and knowledge you can bring and want to give something back to the communities of Darlington, south of County Durham, Hambleton and Richmondshire we would love to hear from you.

You will need to be willing to commit the time and energy that the role requires and have a strong personal commitment to the charity's vision and values. We want Trustees who can help support us to help make a positive difference to the lives of the people we support including active involvement in disciplines which you may have knowledge and experience of to be able to monitor performance and provide thinking on the direction of the charity.

As part of this recruitment we are also looking for new Trustees to:

1) assist the Board by providing an overview of the finances of the organisation. Trustee roles are voluntary and financial responsibility remains the joint responsibility of the whole board. However, Darlington Mind finds it useful to have a board member with a particular focus on finance who can provide challenge and support to the Executive team and the rest of the board.2) support the Board around human resource management and/employment law3) help with the review and development of organisational Policies

As a Trustee/Director of the Charity/Company, the Trustee role is summarised at: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/the-essential-trustee-what-you-need-to-know-cc3 and is also included in the application pack for prospective trustees).
