We are here to help

As the leading specialised Mental Health Charity in Darlington and surrounding area you can trust and rely on us to provide you with the quality care and support services that you deserve.

Established in 1979 - because it was recognised that there was a lack of social outlets and support for people with mental health problems - Darlington Mind has grown substantially over the last 40 years. We now cover Darlington, South Durham, Hambleton & Richmondshire, and offer a wide range of recovery support services to hundreds of people every year. We are here to help you when you need it.

Values

The following values represent who we are and what we strive to do at Darlington Mind:

  • RESILIENCE - We will strive to help people achieve and maintain emotional resilience and be resilient as an organisation
  • EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY - We will promote and champion Equality & Diversity inclusive of individuals who identify as from LGBTQIA+ (LGBTQIA+ support from Arcus) or BAME communities, including all types of disability or ability, religion or culture
  • COMMUNITY - We will provide the best support for people in our local Community and strive to bring people to help each other
  • CARE – Care surrounds all we do in the way we support people and each other
  • RESPECT – for everyone we help and work with, other organisations, communities and each other
  • COLLABORATION - We strive to work collaboratively with those accessing support, each other, other service providers, partners and stakeholders at all levels for mutual benefit

"Darlington Mind did some bespoke training sessions for our business on Mental Health Awareness. Our staff members found it beneficial in helping especially managers spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill-health, and also what they can do to support staff who are enduring these issues. This has really made a positive difference to our company and its workforce – thank you again!"
