The Darlington Mind Art Project consists of a group of artists and creative crafters who have all experienced mental health issues at some time in their lives. It is a relaxed and welcoming space where people can come and explore their art and creativity and develop their skills together. Some of the group are experienced artists; some have found what suits them in the art room at Darlington Mind and have developed new talents.
Artistic and creative expression is proven to be immensely beneficial to mental wellbeing and emotional resilience. People who experience mental health issues often need reinforcement of positivity and self-belief - engaging in the visual arts and creative crafts is a very powerful way to do this.
Darlington Mind Art Project have been inspired by The Hippodrome for this exhibition; they have also included some other work completed in the art room at Darlington Mind.
Thanks to Darlington Hippodrome for making this exhibition possible.
Open daily on the ground floor. 28th October - 25th April 2025.
