Our mission is to provide high-quality mental health and emotional wellbeing support to people of all ages—including children, young people, parents, families, adults, and carers. We offer a wide range of mental health services, including counselling, wellbeing and recovery programmes, peer support, and group activities designed to improve emotional resilience and reduce social isolation.
In addition to supporting individuals, we work closely with local businesses by delivering workplace mental health training. These sessions help organisations create healthier, more supportive environments and promote long-term employee wellbeing.
Although we are affiliated with Mind, the national mental health charity, we are an independent organisation. As part of a nationwide federation of local Minds, we collaborate to improve mental health and wellbeing across the UK. Locally, we partner with a range of organisations to strengthen community mental health services, raise awareness, reduce stigma, and encourage open conversations about mental health.
Since opening our doors in 1979, we’ve helped thousands of people across the North East access mental health support and maintain positive emotional wellbeing.
If you're looking for local mental health support, want to speak with a counsellor, join wellbeing activities, or connect with others in your community—we’re here to help.
